Sculpture by Maku Azu 'The Recluse' enters permanent collection of the Saudi Royal Family

We are honoured to announce that ‘The Recluse,’ a bronze sculptural work by one of our 2022 Senior Fellows, Maku Azu, has entered the permanent collection of the Saudi Royal Family.

‘The Recluse’ is an embodiment of all the common emotions many felt when the world was forced into “exile” – the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sculpture was made during that period and for Maku, “it’s a deeply personal piece.”

Maku’s sculpture joins the vast art collection of the Saudi Royal family including Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Salvator Mundi’ painting valued at almost half a billion dollars.

Congratulations Maku!
