Noldor Residency honours James Barnor with "BOLD" exhibition
Great news! The Noldor Residency is happy to announce the preview showing of “BOLD”, an exhibition in honour of renowned Ghanaian-British photographer James Barnor as part of his 95th birthday celebration festival in Ghana.
This exhibition focuses on the theme of archiving and presents photographs from James Barnor’s Archives that illustrate the significant roles women have played in society. By highlighting the importance of archiving in preserving societal values, the exhibition underscores the crucial contributions of women in shaping these values. It also features works by Noldor Fellow, Dela Anyah, whose creations reflect concepts of preservation and metamorphosis through sculptures and installations, utilizing discarded tire tubes.
The exhibition is in partnership with The James Barnor Festival and was opened to the public from June 1, 2024, and scheduled to run till June 15, 2024.
