Noldor Alumnus, Richard Natoo debuts solo exhibition in London with Chilli Art Projects

We are pleased to announce a debut solo exhibition by 2023 Noldor Residency Visiting Fellow, Richard Nattoo at Chilli Art Projects, London.

The show, titled ‘Between the Horizon and the Echo’, presents works spanning drawing, painting, and sculpture in ideas around multiple spiritual traditions interrupted, and therefore fragmented, by the Caribbean historical experience of indentured and enslaved labour, embodied in a contemporary self.

Rooted in the ancestral memory of the West African Akan, indigenous Taino, and Indo-Hindu spiritual symbolism, Nattoo draws upon these rich sources, engaging in a contemporary reimagining of the delicate boundary between material and spiritual experiences. This re-imagining is seen through the distinct lens of the Caribbean.

The exhibition will be accessible through appointments and will remain open until November 26, 2023.
