Nana Adwoa Frema Amoabeng [b.1994], is a Ghanaian artist and a graduate of the famed Ghanatta College of Art and Design, who uses painting as a means to delve into profound discussions concerning the human body, particularly focusing on the female form.
Noteworthy within her portfolio is the ongoing body of work titled ‘Hand Statement’, inspired by a personal experience involving a near-loss of her hand and the subsequent extensive surgery she underwent. A narrative that is central to her craft.
Frema’s resume includes a collaboration with the French Embassy in Ghana on a project aimed at addressing violence against women through artistic expression and participation in the Chale Wote Street Art Festival in 2020 and 2021.
Currently, she is the Coordinator for WAIA – Women Art Institute Africa, where she actively supports the growth of women creatives within the community.
