Manju Journal presents In Studio Session with Joseph Awuah-Darko.

As London art weeks gain world buzz showcasing the works of talented & exciting talents, we follow the artistic process behind British-born Ghanaian multi-disciplinary artist Joseph Awuah-Darko’s latest body of work entitled Bed of Roses which consciously reflects on his personal journey by exploring themes of depression, spirituality and identity.

As a 2022 visiting fellow at Noldor Artist Residency, the artist uses interdisciplinary methods rooted in local poster design with works on canvas. The artworks consist of four life-size tapestries and four-representing his idiosyncratic visions of his eternal struggles with mental well-being and identity.
