Interview between Director Joseph Awuah-Darko and Inaugural Artist in Residence Emmanuel Taku

Established in 2020, the Noldor Artist Residency is Ghana’s first independent artist residency. Founded by contemporary African art connoisseur, Joseph Awuah-Darko, the residency seeks to nurture technically trained African artists in a dedicated studio space and retreat in Accra, Ghana. The residency’s first emerging African artist, Emmanuel Taku, reflects on his time at the Noldor and how it has transformed his practice
