Institute Museum of Ghana welcomes Charlotte Mensah

We are so happy to welcome the lovely Charlotte Mensah, who came by our institution with her daughter along with the amazing Malin Fezehai!

Charlotte is an award-winning British Ghanaian hairstylist, the owner of the Hairlounge in London, and the author of the well-known book: Good Hair. She has been a trailblazer for preserving the importance of black hair and hair care. She recently has been documented for CNN African Voices Changemakers, where she showcases her foundation: Love Naa Densua Foundation which creates sustainable entrepreneurship on the continent. It was great having them come to the space during the final days of the exhibitions of Bolatito Aderemi-Ibitola and Foster Sakyiamah. Charlotte had the chance to converse with many of our artists, such as Mimi Adu-Serwaah, as they discussed Mimi’s uses of hair within her practice at the residency.

We can’t wait to welcome you again!
