Major triptych by Assoukrou Aké enters permanent collection of Institute Museum of Ghana

We are excited to announce an important acquisition by Institute Museum of Ghana, ‘Les perfection-nés et le sacrifice de maturité’ by Ivorian artist Assoukrou René Poupoint.

‘Les perfection-nés et le sacrifice de maturité,’ 2022, 366 x 244 cm, is a stunning engraved triptych which straddles the lines of symbolism and spirituality – inviting us to question our existence through these dark and heavy atmospheres from which emerges a touch of serenity and hope.

Born in 1995, Poupoint’s compositions echo numerous references ranging from African tales to engravings by masters such as Poussin or Rubens, including Gustave Doré.

Poupoint is the winner of the 2022 Ellipse Prize in Paris and the first Ivorian to enter the museum’s permanent collection.

We can’t wait to share it with the public soon!
