Group Exhibition - Water is Not for Sale by Kwabena Lartey

We are excited to announce the group exhibition Water is Not for Sale at Bloom Galerie in Saint Tropez featuring our 2021 Visiting Fellow Kwabena Lartey. The exhibition is curated by Cassandra Bowes. The first part of the exhibition is on view until November 15th 2022.

Water is Not for Sale explores the theme of water in all of its symbolic capacities, and poetic notions. From religion to queer identity, a metaphor for concepts of the body and gender, to a cultural meeting point. We share much of our lives with water in its various forms, and its universality makes it a point of commonality across cultures. The growing commodification of water over time has transformed a natural resource into a tradable commodity amongst a growing fear of scarcity.

The exhibition will feature artists such as: Mengfan Bai, Sam King, Grace Bromley, Kemi Onabule, Megan Rea, Rebecca Harper, Elijah Ace Kauffman, Kathryn Kampovsky, Dominika Kovacikova Florine Imo, Ebru Duruman, Turiya Magadlela and Eric Eriston Winarto.
