Ceramic artist, Donte Hayes, is now part of the Institute Museum of Ghana’s permanent collection!

We are honoured to announce that work by ceramic artist, Donte Hayes, is now part of The Institute Museum of Ghana’s permanent collection.

‘Oasis’ is a strong representation to the artist’s practice informed by researching traditional African heirlooms and initiation rites of birth, adulthood, marriage, eldership, and ancestry which are essential to all human growth and speaks to the greater African diaspora.

The work was exhibited in a solo exhibition ‘Future Artifacts’ at the Mindy Solomon Gallery in Florida.

A MFA graduate from the University of Iowa, Hayes is included in the permanent collections of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C., The Gibbes Museum of Art, Charleston, South Carolina, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Texas, the Newark Museum of Art, Newark, the Stanley Museum of Art, Iowa City, Iowa.
