Suleyman Wellings-Longmore [b. 1991] is a British visual artist of Nigerian-Jamaican descent.
He combines figurative art with geometric and illusory abstraction to celebrate the multi-faceted Black experience and investigate human rights issues.
By disguising figures, objects, and text as optical illusions, the Harvard-trained lawyer cum artist, bypasses neurological processing to force a confrontation with the viewer.
Suleyman manipulates depth in his creative process, through which he explores where and how his subjects fit within society. Humanitarian work provides the foundation that allows him to artistically investigate social issues while fighting for justice.
