Marcel Kojo Gyan (b. 1996) is a digital artist based in Accra, Ghana, who explores the intersection of creating art between beauty and purpose regardless of the creation method.
He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, focusing on Product design and manufacturing. He is a mechanical engineer by training, software user experience designer by occupation, and an artist at heart. His experience in these marginally related but diverse fields helped him focus on embedding function and purpose in everything he creates.
Both of his parents took careers in highly creative sectors; food and fashion. Everything they’ve created and achieved has been through an expression of themselves. That gave him the courage to explore his artistic talent early on in life. Marcel’s visual environment, which is highly curated and more current now, was built up over time with influences from pioneers in the Tech space like Steve jobs & John Ive and graphic design legends like Milton Glaser and a host of others. He is currently our inaugural Digital Fellow at the Noldor Residency for the 2021 year.
