Kwaku Osei Owusu Achim [b. 1991] is an emerging conceptual contemporary artist based in Accra, Ghana, focusing on the intersection between how we see ourselves in the world and how our surroundings see us.
He completed his studies at Yeshua Institute of Technology, where he focused on Medical Data. He worked in the medical field as an assistant at St. John of God Hospital and New Horizon, where he felt this passion for visual arts come through. During his one [1] year of volunteering experience at the facilities, he taught art to children with autism. From there, he got a range of inspiration from the way they communicated with their hands. He finds inspiration from Jean- Michel Basiquiat, Egon Shiele and Salavdor Dali. He is currently a visiting fellow at the Noldor Residency for the 2021 year. He will be featured in the Brick Lane Gallery group show next year March 2022.
